UW-L BY THE NUMBERS Scoring offense; 17.5 ppg (6th in WIAC) Rushing offense; 105.6 ypg (8th) Pass offense; 170.6 ypg (7th) Total offense; 276.2ypg (8th) Sacks allowed; 31 (T7th) There was some confusion but no resistance when the UW-La Crosse football teams coaching go!! staff decided to change the offseason workouts for the offensive line. After finishing with the worst rushing attack in the WIAC (105.6 yards per game) a season ago and surrendering more than three sacks per game, the Eagles blockers were open to just about anything. Even yoga. The Eagles coaching staff called an audible during the offseason and encouraged their offensive linemen to spend less time in the weight room and more time on a yoga mat. We did two mornings of (voluntary) yoga (sessions) all throughout the winter and spring because we had an issue with flexibility, Eagles offensive line coach Andrew McGlenn said.
Source:

Why ab workouts are a waste of time |

Whats nice is that the work youll be doing in the gym whether its strength training or cardio can be just as much of a workout for your midsection as any abs blaster class at your gym. And choosing movements that engage the abs and other core muscles will actually help you in your quest for a trimmer waistline. Try doing your chest presses while lying on a stability ball instead of on a bench. Replace the leg presses you do using a machine with just about any type of lunge.
Source:

On Yoga's 'race Problem': Has The Practice Become Too White? - F

Follow Comments Following Comments Unfollow Comments Last month, the Atlantic published an online article called Why Your Yoga Class Is So White . Not surprisingly, the article generated a lot of discussion, and probably a good number of clicks. Its a gripping headline, of course, and the author makes an interesting point just by asking the question that is, most people understand the yoga-studios-are-largely-white phenomenon to which she broadly refers. But the article only answers its title question in the most cursory way, since it forgets a few key aspects of yogas past and present. Amazingly, it leaves out the fact that yoga wasnt white to begin with. The article also forgets that yoga is practiced in many forms today in America. And that its steadily evolvingawayfrom the current iconic practitioner: The affluent skinny white woman. * * * Framing yoga as a fundamentally white practice that hasnt diversified yet is, well, misleading. Yoga wasnt white for most of its history, and its appearance as such in the U.S. is fairly recent, and probably fleeting.
Full story:
